[vintage sideboard styling]

We won, we won!
A fabulous vintage sideboard!
Looks fantastic in our little unit but still in need of a little styling.
Stacked books, framed art leaning against the wall and plenty of curios are on the cards...

A great excuse to spend some time trawling through antique and op-shops!
Not that I ever need an excuse!

Five weeks to go as of this Saturday!!! Ahhhh!

[my melbourne find]

On our very brief trip to Melbourne last weekend I stumbled upon the most amazing store.
We'd arrived a few minutes early to yum cha and it was only a few doors down.
The beautiful set of bentwood chairs in the window drew me in.

The shop is called Tarlo and Graham and it's situated in Chapel Street.
Their collection of unique and unorthodox bits and bobs is truly exciting!
My heart rate reached it's peak when I spotted their collection of David Bromley paintings on the wall.
It was obvious that I was a little awestruck, so the owner shared with me that David himself was only in the other day and that he's a good friend and customer.
The final straw.  I needed something to come home with me from this shop.
Sadly it wasn't a Bromley.

It was these beautiful size 4½ antique wooden shoe lasts.
I adore the contrast of well loved and intriguing items against a clean fresh space.
It adds soul.
When were back, I did a little rearranging.
My antique find needed a home.
This here is the little bedside table that had been on "my side" of the bed.
And until I find something different, unique and ultimately perfect to go here, the Ikea stays.
Little by little it feels like it's coming together.

[wedding guest looks]

Our very dear friends Chris and AL are getting married tomorrow!
So here I sit, with my tanning lotion doing its thang, having a sensible, quiet night in.
I'm familiarising myself with ASOS and one of their "looks" categories I came across is wedding guest.
There are some tres stylish guests sitting on pews out there...
With all these lovely pastel shades, sweet lace tops and flirty florals, I'm second guessing my choice of black dress, heels, jacket, earrings and clutch.
Being a purpose purchased outfit, I won't change my plans.
At least I know where to trawl for inspiration for next time!
Happy long weekend!! Jx

[glass cloche curios]

A couple of weekends ago I was out and about shopping for a warm top for the chillier months ahead.
As per every shopping expedition, I gravitated towards homewares.
Glass bell jars or cloches were going for a steal.

How could I resist!
Now I just need to play around with what little curios I'd like to display.
Happy Monday everyone!

[looky what she won on ebay...]

Daniel San and I have been searching for a cast iron garden set for little while now.
I very nearly had him convinced that we should buy a similar set at a second hand shop in Brunswick Heads last time we were visiting.
Lucky we didn't.  We found this baby on ebay and at $41 it was ours!
It was the first time I'd ever bid on anything and you should have seen what an anxious mess I was with 10 minutes to go, on my phone, on a saturday night, in a cocktail lounge.
This morning we took a little drive down the coast to collect our win.

There's no doubt it needs a little love - all the more fun I say.
I've been on the Dulux website creating my powder-coating colour shortlist.
Rather than sticking with the traditional white, I was thinking either a pale apricot, greeny/mint or turquoisey/jade colour.

We're really looking forward to having our morning cuppa on the balcony - our outdoor space still needs a little attention!
Which colour would you choose?!

[new love: white horse home]

Yesterday was not half bad - for a wednesday at least.

A light shower on my morning walk.
Homemade bircher for brekky.
....work....
Then off to see Mary Poppins with Mum.

Oh, and Real Living came in the mail... (which makes my heart race opening the plastic wrap!)
I didn't manage to make it past the editor's letter before googling a label new to my eyes...

I'm in love with a shuttlecock cushion!
I'll be definitely keeping my eye on their wares.

For now though, I'll wait.
I think Dan would have a heart attack if I bought another cushion.
They just don't understand!

[bunny brooch]

My sweet little bunny brooch arrived in the mail this week and he is particularly cute!
As I mentioned back here, I came across Brisbane based Each to Own on Etsy and fell in love with Kirsten's pieces.
I chose this is the little guy to add to the beginnings of my collection.
I thought he looked lovely swinging off a string of my Nan's fake-as-fake champagne pearls.
For a family lunch on Saturday, me and my little brooch set off here...

If you're a Brisbanite and haven't yet been, you don't know what you're missing!
You could take your very own brooch on an outing there (and order the Blackberry and Cinnamon smoothie - just sayin')
To have a look at Kirsten's other sweet creations, find her on Etsy, Made It, and good ol' Facebook.
Happy Sunday!

[brizzy made brooches]

Looky what I stumbled upon on Etsy!
The shop is Each To Own by Kirsten Devitt and she's Brizzy girl - love a local talent find!
As well as cute-as-pie brooches, she also has a collection of rings and earrings that are very sweet!
Cute much?!
Whilst writing this post I was purchasing my own little piece - my very first Etsy investment.
Up until now I was a virtual window shopper but since my first wooden brooch purchase last year, I've developed a bit of a weakness.
Looking forward to the postie visiting this week, provided he doesn't also have a bill for me! Jx

[a pot of tea under a tree]

A Pot of Tea Under a Tree is a fashion concept developed by my good friend Louise Falzon.  She holds clothing exchange events here in Brisbane twice yearly (which supports the charity Project Futures), runs sustainable fashion workshops and now has online shop!
Her fashion label is, what she describes as bespoke, innovative and sustainable and each item is made to order using only the finest, eco luxe fabrics available.
Want more?
Find it here!
And if you're like me and have a wardrobe full of clothes that are no longer in your usual rotation, why not come meet Louise at the next Under a Tree Clothing Exchange in April and have a swapsie!
Last time I picked up this cute number.
Happy Thursday!

[vintage school map]

I'm off the boat and my body finally feels like I'm no longer on one. Hope you all had a fantastic Chrissy break!
I thought I'd share with you what I bought Daniel San for his "big number" b-day...
Isn't she lovely!

It took me a little while to find what I was looking for but I ended up sourcing it from empirical style.
Happy friday everyone!!! Jx
