[wedding styling - yandina station]

Last week I assisted Kara Rosenlund in styling this beautiful wedding at Yandina Station.
Here's a few of Kara's stunning shots from the day...
The mega floral wreath hanging behind the bridal table was the creation of Twig & Grace - beautifully symbolic and complemented the rust covered barn wall so perfectly!

If you'd like to see a little more of this amazing wedding, stop by Kara's blog here.

[croquet engagement brunch]

My little sister Sarah is engaged!
To celebrate this happy occasion, we threw her and her fiancé Chris an engagement party.  Rather than your typical evening soiree, we held a Sunday brunch at a sweet little croquet club.
I had a friend of mine who's an aspiring florist to create the beautiful arrangements for the brunch table and had a few family members and Sarah's other bridesmaids to help with the tasty morsels.
It was truly a perfect winter's morning here in sunny Brisbane!
The lovely Rachel Evans created these stunning blooms, complementing the mint green and yellow theme beautifully with dewy succulents and billy buttons.
Gluten Free Banana Cake with Passionfruit Icing.
(Made by yours truly)
I discovered this completely divine recipe over at My Darling Lemon Thyme - a fantastic food blog full of delish gluten free goodness.
Clockwise from the top, Sarah, me (her MOH) and her lovely bridesmaids.
Me and my bearded husband.
Long time friends Brooke and Britney looking the part for a morning of croquet.
and the happy couple.
I love these shots,
they're a bit cute.
And so the planning begins.

[so frenchy dinner party]

Last night I had myself a little dinner party with some lovely girlfriends of mine.  I love any opportunity to get creative with table settings.
I was attempting french cuisine for the first time and wanted the table to tie in with the menu.
Lucky for me our Ikea cross-back chairs look a little french provincial.
I found these very sweet shallow bowls at a great price at Target which added a vintage feel.
I used a strip of cream hessian from Lincraft and frayed the edges a little for a table runner.
I picked up these amazing Dahlias from the local market.
The small stems looked so sweet in Nan's bud vases!
 And now for the food...
Entrée
Goats Cheese Soufflé
with Spinach and Walnut Salad

Main
Slow cooked Lamb Shanks
with Tomato, Cannellini Beans and Thyme

Dessert
Warm Cherry Almond Clafoutis
served with Creme Fraiche

They were all really delicious and easy recipes to follow!
Find them here, here and here!
We also made sure to have a drop of Champagne as yesterday was 6 months until our wedding day!
Speaking of weddings, I'm off to one now.
Best start getting ready! Jx

[seven months + a little vintage love]

It's seven months today until Dan and I are married!
(I'm smiling while writing)
Planning so far has been enjoyable and breezy.  There are so many beautiful images out there to inspire, particularly for the vintage, nostalgic feel I'd love to convey!
Look what she found on Style Me Pretty...
Too good to be true?
Ten points to you!
It's a mock wedding.

I'm not sure it matters.  It's so pretty I didn't notice the absence of a groom.
Have a peek at the rest of these lovely images here.

[sweet bouquets]

Last week I began researching florists and gathering some digital inspiration.
I'm quickly realising that there are bridal bouquets and there are bridal bouquets!
I've been pouring over the real wedding posts on style me pretty.  It's too beautiful and too addictive.
I'm loving the unconventional mixes with things like berries, brooches and feathers with a little bit of chaos.
I think that fits me - food, vintage and mess. Jx
