[sweet ribbon storage]

I've been a wrapping paper, gift bag and ribbon re-user from way back, however, I never had worked out an easy way of storing all my bits and bobs (if you discount the "stuffing into a old shoebox" as a method).
So this was my simple little idea using wooden pegs.

"Before"
Pick up a pack of wooden pegs - I found mine at Bunnings for a couple of dollars.
Secure one end of the ribbon, wrap round the whole peg, then peg the end.
I think they look really sweet if I do say so myself.
Have a go... it's a snap!

[this year's pretty chrissy wrapping]

Every year I get a little thrill out of chosing my gift wrap style for the festive season.  It's not always peachy - I have been known to get a little frustrated when the particular look I've dreamed up (usually at some ungodly hour, keeping me awake) hasn't worked out because they don't sell yellow candy striped paper by the roll at this time of year.
This is what the cluster of prezzies under our tree will look like this year...

Simple brown paper
A strip of colourful floral fabric around the middle
Brown twine wrapped randomly over the top

This was my sectret santa prezzie at our Christmas picnic in the park.
Think I might make these little gift tags again for the others.
Looks cute no?

When if comes to gifts, I'm a bit like that toddler at Christmas...way more interested in the wrapping than what's inside!  I had a little go at making spiral flowers out of old paper to adorn this prezzie for a bridal shower.
If you feel like having a go yourself I found a great little tutorial here.
Happy hump day! Jx

[down the rabbit hole watercolour]

Twas Ms Charli's birthday party last night and as theme was "Down the Rabbit Hole" I thought I'd paint her a little alice.  It was my watercoloured version of one of the original illustrations from the book.
...and all wrapped up and ready to go.  I also managed to sneak in a mini crafternoon with Al to play around with gift tags using pages of an old book. Jx
