[lusting over otomi]

This week is a busy little week of planning and packing.
After another wonderful trimester of my interior design course, it's holiday time and we're off to Central America!
While Dan researches ruins and cenotes, I'm wandering off on a little tangent and dreaming of Mexican embroidery.
I may consider wearing my entire luggage-worth of clothes to make room for one of these babies back on the flight with me.

They're such a bold statement piece.

I'm completely in love with the styling of the outdoor table and cane hanging chair!
I am a bit of a sucker for green though.
and bentwoods.
and black and white flooring.

I've not yet discovered where best to find such beauties over in the Yucatan Peninsula so if you happen to know where best to go I'd love to here from you!
Enjoy your week everyone!

[blue and white deer head]

Last Wednesday was Brisbane's show holiday.  I took the opportunity to indulge in some much needed craft time - oh so therapeutic!
This blue and white fabric adorned deer head is what I did...
I had started out with a plywood deer head.  I found this baby on eBay.
I had originally been admiring it on Matt Blatt but after being on the "notify when back in stock" waiting list for what seem like an age, I looked elsewhere.
I then purchased some gorgeous fabric from Peppermint Stitches in Toowong - possibly the most colourful eye-candy covered fabric store you'll ever come across.  Do yourself a favour crafty Brisbanites!
To adhere the fabric I used a spray glue and then carefully cut around the shapes.  The added thickness of the fabric did make assembling the pieces a little more laborious but we got there in the end.
Can't wait to show him off to you once he's hanging on our wall - but truth be told I couldn't wait!
Have a lovely week ahead everyone! Jx

Psst - eight weeks to go!

[one delicious chair]

Lovely furniture makes my heart flutter.
Like this beautifully restored piece by Judy from Verandah House Interiors.
The bold floral print is perfection and I adore the contrasting blue and white stripes on the arms.
I can completely understand why she found it difficult to part with it when presenting it back to the client.
I found a beautiful bentwood rocking chair a Vinnies not that long ago that needs this very look.
I'll be sure to post pics of her "before" shoot soon.
Happy hump day everyone! Jx
