[a little more salmon love]

image via here

At the moment, I am loving the mix of pretty corals and salmons combined with fresh green and a little gold.  These are the same colours I chose to paint with last Friday night.
I did have another couple of interiors to share with you that were lovely, but just didn't reach the same heights as this stunning bedroom! How amazing is the wallpaper!
Perfection!

[salmon & lime with a twist of gold]

Where does the week go!
I'm suffering from a severe case of blog neglect.
Life has been hectic and I needed a breather, so last Friday night I dusted off the paintbrushes and played with a little colour...
What do we think?!
The plan is to try a little DIY framing in a lovely birch wood and hang them above the television - hopefully a bold enough distraction from the soulless black box!
Fingers crossed the final result is not too far off!

In other news, we're officially less than 12 weeks til the big day.
First dress measurements are in 2 weeks (ahhh) and I'm ordering my shoes online tomorrow!
Flat ivory goodness here I come!

[dining chair reconnaissance]

Dan's friend bought his first home.
He was over the other night and asked if I would accompany him furniture shopping.
What girl would say no to that!

With a little time on my hands the other day I began investigating looks for his dining space - because I'm pretty sure most men really care about what their dining space looks like.
My first thought - An industrial style with Tolix chairs paired with a lovely wooden dining table to add a little warmth.
They come in so many delicious colours too!

Or there's the more organic look of the mid-century classic Wishbone chair.
(Side-note: enjoying the wall collage)

And finally the Eames Shell chair.
I gather he's unlikely to select an array of colours but isn't it a gorgeously unique setting!

This shopping for others could get dangerous.
I'm looking at our own dining space and dreaming of a facelift.
I'm sure Dan wouldn't notice if a few lovely duck-egg blue powder-coated tolix chairs were to magically replace of our white wooden cross-backs!

[wedding cake flavour testing]

Last night we had ourselves a little cake testing session with our friend and talented little baker Brooke from Eat My Cake (and few fellow tasters to increase the study's sample size).
I made sure yesterday was a very light eating day in preparation for the evening's festivities but no amount of sparrow protein grazing could prepare me for this sweet sugar onslaught!

She baked mini individual sized cupcakes in five flavours to be mixed and matched with seven delectable icings and fillings.
She had even created little scoring tables so that we could keep track of our favourite combinations.
The standouts were:
- Peaches and cream cake with cream cheese frosting
- Lemon and poppyseed cake with the combination of lemon curd and lemon meringue
- Gluten free choc orange cake with cream cheese frosting (Dan's favourite)

This little exercise was to make choosing the flavour of the wedding cake easier.
Sadly we're no closer.
Just a little more full.

[she shall be inspired - living room art]

We have one big white (no longer dirty green with oversized silver tick-shaped book shelves) wall in our living room crying out for some art.
I'd love an amazing book shelf unit however drilling into the concrete walls has not been fun for even simple jobs, so I think we'll opt for something a little less labour intensive.

Jordan from Oh Happy Day styled her apartment in Paris like this...
and I'm liking...

I'm particularly interested in the shape. Two large square canvases to capture the focus rather that the black void of the television.
I think they'd look lovely and finished with a beechwood frame sitting flush to the canvas, a bit like piece featured on June's Real Living.  The lovely turquoise and pink combination in this piece is definitely a contender.

[i'd rather be here - cozy bedroom]

Sure the rain might have passed and the sun is finally here, but I'm freezing.
I would have much rathered stay in bed with a mag or two today.
This bedroom would suit me just fine!
I love the cozy patterned blankets at the end of the bed and how the soft hanging fabric creates a sweet little doorway.
I think a lovely wooden breakfast tray would finish this picture off perfectly - with maybe a pot of T2 French Earl Grey and a bowl of honey porridge.
Happy Monday everyone - stay warm!
