[enamel fun happy times]

Yesterday we picked up the brushes again in an attempt to finish the damn thing once and for all... unsuccessful but one step closer.
I enamelled the toilet while dan painted the ceiling of the bathroom. What a glamorous way to spend a Saturday!
Now all we need to do is the kitchen and a touch more enamelling and then we're done with having showers with a scrubbing brush and a bottle of turps! Very excited!

Also rating high on the excitement scale is the visit from the electrician we'll be receiving next week!  We'll finally be able to have people over and not have to explain that if they need to use the bathroom they must do so by candlelight... that's right, we haven't had a light in the toilet in almost a year!

It's a cloudy old day here in Brizzy so we're spending the morning hanging pictured/art! I'll update you later on the finished product!

[salad by the sea]

Popped out for lunch today for a bit of fresh air. It was a little choppy in the bay but I feel lucky to be able to have a sit by the water during my lunch break...
...even if my salad was boring.

Enjoy your friday's everyone! Jx

[très cute stool]

I'm busily trying to get the 2nd bedroom looking presentable and guest-ready and was looking for some decorative inspiration in my Real Living collection.I came across this cute-as-pie little stool (Slightly off task but what can I say - I'm easily distracted).
I'm really wanting to try something similar!
Happy hump day!

[ian and karishma - the wedding]

Congratulations Ian and Karishma!
Two words.... Stunning Dress!!!
This girl had planned every detail of this day to perfection!
and I've got to say I loved the homemade Indian and Sri Lankan delicious bites for the bomboniere - what a lovely touch!
...and looky who caught the bouquet! Actually some old guy caught it and handed it over to me. Pretty sure it still counts!
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Jx

[a very pink morning tea]

My workplace went pink for breast cancer today.  Last-minute-me was up til 11:45pm baking this mini cupcakes - Rosewater and Pistachio mini cupcakes... Deeee-vine!!!
They are truly amazing! The persian guy at work ate three - he was to be my toughest critic!
The recipe is from 500 Cupcakes by Fergal Connolly.  It was also published on Taste.com so you can find it here.
On an other note... Carl Barron was very funny tonight.
Happy hump day! Jx

[sunday market roses]

After my morning run (which was deplorable!) I met up with Mum, Suey and Eve for visit to my fave Sunday markets.  The flowers are oh so cheap and get me every time!
Today I indulged in these beautiful citrusy roses.
Life seems better with flowers in your bedroom!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend - make the most of what's left!  I'm just about to head out for mexican and sangria for a very overdue sister-dinner-catch-up. Jx

[keep calm and try to forgive the idiot at the framing shop]

I'd been waiting for over two months to receive the pick-up call for my poster we had mounted - it wasn't happening.  So what did she do? She marched in there and very politely asked if it was ready whilst gently repeating in her head "flies with honey, flies with honey".  Lucky for him he did a nice job!
I know, I know... nothing you haven't seen before. But I'm excited so blogged it shall be!
If you are in market for posters we found ours here.

While I was a on framing roll, I popped to the local KMart and had this photo printed.  It's a shot of Dan from the trip we took to Vanuatu too long ago.  You can fiddle around with adding text while you're there!  The frame is an Ikea job so in the end it turned out to be a very cheap piece of art!

Looking forward to the weekend!  Had my inevitable spring head-cold this week so planning on a few days of nothingness! Jx

[sean & jenny - the wedding]

Congratulations to our dear friends Sean and Jenny!

What a beautiful day!!! The rain was bucketing down for all of the morning but Jenny's smile brought the sun out!  It was one of the most personalised weddings I have ever had the pleasure of attending! Every last detail of their amazing day was them to a T - from the Kombi wedding car to the barrel wave wedding cake.

Here's to a amazing life together - filled with plenty more fun nights and surfing days!

[handmade gifts... this takes the cake!]

She's a clever chook she is!  This is the beautiful necklace that my friend Katie Green made for me for my birthday... that's right... made!  She's been dabbling in jewellery making for years and only just partook in a gold and silversmithing course.  Clearly she's a natural!
It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you all Fat Duck Road Designs.
Could not be more excited about this gift.  It's so me!  I can't wait to see what she dreams up next!

The last three pics were from out last weekend away there - the weather was a tad nicer. Jx
